The Rule of Three Blogfest

28th September 2011
http://amloki.blogspot.com/2011/08/rule-of-three.html

I was sent this link by my brother-in-law...it sucked me in as something I wanted to try my hand at. From reading the rules it seems more in the fantasy realm of fiction than I might normally write in, but I thought that that might make an interesting juxtaposition...so, I'll be back!

Just entered my Linky (first time I've ever heard of that!) and I'm lucky No. 58...and now to work!

30th September 2011
So...I'm still pretty new to this whole blog thing, and experimenting on the best way to blog and how to add to my posts...do I edit one that's already created or begin something new...hmmm *ponders*...well, I'm sure I'll work it out eventually (one hopes!).

And on with the business of writing, or rather the subject of #REN3...this competition is becoming more and more interesting to me...I was initially worried by the 500ish word count for each 'chapter', but I'm surprised by how much information I can actually convey in so few words (my blog writing probably isn't the best example of my ability to use an economy of words - a friend described my blog as 'chatty' - which I didn't take offense at because that's who I am...the chatty one...and glad to be so =D ).

I'm progressing along quite happily with this project...just gotta make sure I don't get too sidetracked with editing (I wouldn't call it my strength) before I've even completed the narrative (already found myself shuffling my feet around the first 200 words...Come on, move on! No loitering!).

When I read a book I read it slowly. I take in every word, and I play the 'movie' in my head. I do the same when I write my own stories...I may not describe every single item a character wears, for the sake of pace, but ask me and I can tell you. I've already turned the canvas of Renaissance into a 3D model, figuratively, and I'm finding photos, that I've taken and also from the web, that are helping me to colour the town too.

I'll add more photos later...when it's not quarter to one in the morning...night night, blog you tomorrow.

3rd October 2011

Oh man! I still have an entire day to complete my first #REN3 story blog, and yet all I can do is check facebook and twitter, and anything else that isn't writing! I have now filled up my week with various things making it even more of a challenge to get the submission completed in time. I don't quite know why I get in my own way...note to self: Get out of the flipping way!

I think I'm just a little bit stickity stuck and over thinking the whole thing...getting too caught up in the scenery and history behind the story...whilst another new project has been coming really easily...I know the 500 word count is still freaking me out too...must get back to it - wish me luck!

Welcome to REN3 :-) I'm debating trying a new genre, but nervous about it. I'll probably decide the night before and then be in my usual last minute panic mode!

So glad that you are joining Rule of Three. I started blogging 2 years ago with the hope of getting my name out there. It's a gr8 way to meet writers - I have to say they have inspired my writing in areas I would never have ventured. If you have an questions, are interested in getting your feet wet in memes, or just want another writer friend - my email is mdw4osp@gmail.com
